At the golf course recently there was a serious case of vandalism. Two putting surfaces and three tee areas were severely damaged with what appears to be an oil-based product. To date there has been minimal recovery from this destruction.
In a Gazette article recently, Ed mentioned a red golf cart as being suspect. The day of the vandalism a red golf cart with a black interior was sighted in the area of the damage. Two young / teenage girls were driving the cart. It is not positive that these are the perpetrators, however the Club would like to discuss this with them.
If anyone notices this particular golf cart, please call the Club at 561-1036 to report the location.
Also, to eliminate confusion; Gateway Golf and Country club is a private entity. Other than golfers in Club owned carts or Club members in their personal carts; there should be no traffic on the course at all. This includes persons walking, jogging, dog-walking, bicycling etc.
